Chandra’s health fight

Story

Hello, this is for Chandra Pirtle, who most know as Mrs. McKinney. Chandra is well known in the Sullivan County community for her teaching career and her time with the Hamilton Center. Chandra has made a huge impact on so many individuals. She has individuals to this day who she taught in elementary school who still love seeing her and calling her Mrs. McKinney. Chandra has been there and helped many throughout her life while she herself was battling thyroid cancer, lupus, and other health issues.

Things recently began to go downhill where options were limited on treatments for her lupus. Lupus has begun attacking her kidneys, making them begin to shut down along with other organs. Luckily, a facility in Clearwater, Florida was located that gave options on treatments, but insurance will not cover them due to the types of treatments. We as a family are stepping in and doing all we can to assist with treatments and living costs for at least 3 months, if not longer, along with daily costs as she is unable to work during this time. We as a family are never ones to ask for help, as Chandra also does not want the help, but we as a family are here to say we need it but will figure it out if it’s not there.

We lost Aunt Jo in August last year, Uncle Raymond in September, cousin Chad a day after Uncle Raymond, and then Uncle Terry in December. We have experienced enough loss and are trying to do what we can so we don’t have to experience any more anytime soon. Please do not feel obligated to donate. There will never be any hard feelings from our family to anyone. We understand everyone is in hard times and on strict budgets. If you can donate, then it is much appreciated, even if it’s just a prayer.
